Things You'll Need
Instructions
Find people who like to play games. Invite one couple or five, whatever your home can handle, using evite.com or a creative email.
Dig out some games, choosing a few you think your group would enjoy. Encourage your friends to bring their favorite games for some variety.
Set up a table large enough to accommodate the guests, the game and any extra pieces. Make sure to have comfortable chairs and plenty of pens and pads of paper.
Provide a dinner beforehand or offer snacks throughout the night. Snacks should be easy to eat while playing and not messy. Decide prior to sending invitations whether you offer alcohol or soda and notify the guests. You are the host; you get to decide the rules of the night.
Explain any game rules before playing. New groups should start with games with few rules and work their way towards more complex games once comfortable with each other.
Play games suitable for groups, such as Apples to Apples, Catchphrase, Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, Clue, Pictionary, Scrabble, Scene-It, Outburst, Taboo and Monopoly. Also be open to games that don't come from a box, such as gin rummy or charades.
Invite guests back for another game night or decide to meet at another house next time.
