How to Get Really Good at Ricochet Robots

Get a number out there quickly. Even if it's the most roundabout way you can figure, calling out a number will put the pressure on your opponents while still giving you time to figure out a shorter way.

Use all the robots! There will invariably be many occasions which force you to use multiple robots! Do whatever you need to do to reach the goal! If you need to use 3 or 4 robots, go for it!

Stack the robots. If you find your route being shortened by a square or two, stack robots there to make up for the gap.

Remember the colored bumpers! These may or may not be present, depending on which side of the board you're using, but if they're there, use them! Remember: same colored robots pass right through, all others bounce off them at 90-degree angles.

Simpler is better. While it may seem obvious, it is surprisingly easy to find very roundabout ways to do very simple things in this game.

Move away from the goal to start with. As a more or less general rule, this seems to work maybe 90% of the time. For some reason, solutions can be found much easier if your first move is away from the goal!

Use 47 moves if you need to. There will come a time (not many, but they do exist!) when it will take 47+ moves to reach the goal!
