How to Play Naruto Chess Games

"Naruto" is a manga, or comic book, and anime series from Japan similar to "Dragon Ball Z" and other manga. Since Naruto is a popular series, there are many games, including chess, with a Naruto theme. If you have a Naruto themed chess set, playing a chess game with that set is very similar to playing regular chess.

Set up the chess board with Naruto characters of each color on opposing sides of the board. The order of setting up the chess set is with rooks on the outsides, followed by knights, bishops and the king and queen in the middle. These pieces are set up on the farthest ends of the board. The queen will be to the left of the king. Finally set up a row of pawns in the row directly in front of the rooks, knights, bishops, king and queen. Both colors are set up in the same way.

Move the pieces in accordance with the rules of movement for each piece. For example, pawns can only move one square at a time, towards the enemy only, except when capable of killing a pawn which is in a diagonal position directly in front of it. Remember that the goal of chess is to "checkmate" the king of your opponent. You have checkmated the king when the king is incapable of making a move without being in danger of being killed. Your moves should be strategically done with the purpose of accomplishing the goal without putting your own king in danger of being checkmated.

Take turns with your opponent where each of you makes one move per turn until one of you has checkmated the other, or until there is a stalemate. A stalemate is a situation in which neither you nor your opponent can make a legal move.
