New York Chess Clubs

New York is filled with chess players who enjoy the strategic game. The state's chess clubs bring players together with tournaments and games. Besides the competition, players hear lectures and pick up tips on how to become better players. Additionally, children are introduced to the game, which could be played over a lifetime.
  1. Long Island Chess Nuts Association

    • This scholastic chess club has over 2,000 members from kindergarten to the 12th grade. The non-profit organization's goal is to promote the positive and educational benefits of chess throughout Nassau County and Suffolk County, according to the association. The Long Island Chess Nuts offer instruction after school one day a week, as well as tournaments.

    Marshall Chess Club

    • Chess grandmaster Frank J. Marshall founded the storied club in 1915, and it's been housed at the same New York City location since 1931. The club, selected as the United States Chess Federation Club of the Year in 2004, offers several activities, including grandmaster lectures, classes, casual games and tournaments.

    Westchester Chess Club
