Training Chess Sets

Chess is a game of complex strategies and misdirection. This may be intimidating to a beginner since there are many different pieces that have different maneuverability. There are training chess sets that may be helpful to a beginner interested in learning the game.

Chess
- Chess is a strategic board game played for both recreation as well as competition. Each player is given 16 chess pieces and the game is played on a 64 square eight by eight grid.
Chess for Dummies
- Chess for Dummies is offered by TDC games. The chess set comes with playing pieces and a board that has each piece's available movements listed on their starting position (see Resources).
Saitek Talking Chess Trainer
- This is an electronic board that teaches both advanced and beginner moves and strategy. A voice is used to give the player information and help throughout the different games available.
Saitek Chess Trainer
- Similar to the Saitek Talking Chess Trainer, the Saitek Chess Trainer does not offer a voice for information. An animated face responds to moves being made and offers feedback.
Chess Starter Package for Scholastic Players
- This chess set package comes with loads of information about the game. The package includes many books and pamphlets to give players information about basic rules to advanced strategies.
