Things You'll Need
Instructions
Look around the Internet. You will find hundreds of games available for download. Some of them are free, some cost money and some are bundled with spyware. The games that you have to pay for are usually graphically better, but the free games are, well, free.
Compare the different games. You'll need to decide which game is right for you. Each game offers the same basic experience, but some do a better job than others. Some offer chess tutorials within the game, while others incorporate extra elements to enhance game play, like custom chess pieces and special themes.
Pay for your game, if that is the route you have chosen. Most websites accept major credit/debit cards and offer true Internet security.
Download your chess game. Save it in a folder where you'll remember it. Keeping the installation file is recommended, in case you have to reinstall the game.
Play computer chess.
