Game Hints for White Knight Chronicles

A classic role-playing game for the PS3, "White Knight Chronicles," features a fully explorable environment, epic battles and an extensive array of weapons and equipment, providing RPG fans with a challenging experience. Knowing a few tips on how to best build your characters and assemble a winning travel party can help you achieve success.
  1. Weapons Skills

    • The game lets you choose from eight weapon skills when building your characters. Focus on one weapon skill per character to create strong specialists, rather than watered-down fighters. Once you have one weapon skill maxed out, move on to additional skills. Axe specialists offer the most aggressive offense, with every skill geared towards attacking and inflicting damage. The longsword and regular sword also provide powerful attacks. If you prefer defense, opt for the spear or even the bow, which allows you to attack from distance. You also need to make certain at least one member of your party specializes in divine magic, as it governs healing.

    Healer

    • When building a healer, equip the character with light armor and direct all your skill points into divine magic before branching into the staff weapon skills. The staff, while not much of an offensive weapon, augments spell casting. All spell casters need a staff to get the most out of their magic. A healer's only other weapon choice is the bow, which allows the healer to stay a safe distance away without hindering his spell casting too badly.

    Tanks

    • In "White Knight Chronicles," the term "tanks" refers to a sword or spear specialist who carries a shield and wears heavy armor. Spear specialists make for the best tanks, because they can master the Threaten skill, which can be key during confrontations. Such tanks play important roles in combat, absorbing damage and protecting other members of the party. This technique proves particularly effective during boss battles, when tanks can strike a guardian pose to shield others and then counterattack with long combos.

    Party

    • An ideal travel party includes two tanks, two healers and two additional damage dealers, like axe specialists. Having two of each general skill set allows you to switch between characters without losing a tactical advantage if one of the two becomes weak during exploration. Unlike other RPGs, "White Knight Chronicles" allows its characters to regenerate health points and magic points as long as the entire party is not involved in combat. The ability to regenerate means there's no need to hold anything in reserve, so attack often and cast your most powerful spells as frequently as possible.
