Faction Limit in EpicDuel

A 2D browser-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game, "EpicDuel" allows you to create your own character from one of three classes, then develop the character's skills through a series of one-on-one or two-on-two duels. The game utilizes a unique faction system, permitting a group of players to fight together for a common cause. Certain limits apply to faction creation and performance.
  1. Game

    • In "EpicDuel," two opposing groups, the Legion and the Exile, wage war for galactic supremacy. The Legion represents the old guard and an often brutal regime, while the Exile consists of rebels attempting to create a new ruling government. All game factions must be aligned with either the Legion or the Exile. Each faction competes to win matches and gain territory for its respective side in the ongoing conflict. The better a faction performs, the more influence it has, helping advance its side to ultimate victory. Top factions for each side appear on the game's War Chart, letting players keep track of the overall campaign.

    Features

    • Each "EpicDuel" faction may include a maximum of 18 total members. That number includes the faction founder, six faction officers and 11 non-officers. Creating your own faction requires 1,000 credits and 425 varium, the in-game currency. You can also join existing factions through an invitation from a faction founder or officer. Each faction may impose its own rules and limits that govern member behavior. For instance, faction founders often require a minimum participation, with prolonged inactivity costing you your place in the group.

    Founder

    • The faction founder, sometimes known as the faction leader, cannot leave his faction without completely disbanding it. That's the only real limit placed on the founder, who enjoys unmatched freedom and power. The founder may recruit members, promote members to officer, demote officers or even dismiss members from the faction. The founder also designs the faction's color scheme and flag, supplying the faction with its identity.

    Officers

    • Each faction can feature up to six officers, who serve supportive roles for the founder. Officers may recruit members, private message other faction members, donate battle tokens to capture points, post on the NoteBot and clear messages from the NoteBot.

    Members

    • Rules limit the amount of power regular faction members enjoy. A normal faction member may only private message other members, post on the NoteBot and donate battle tokens to capture points. Performing well in battle and winning matches may earn a promotion, elevating the member to officer and removing the strict limits on her abilities.
