Starshine Cheats on Meez

Produced by Hero Interactive, "StarShine" is a flash puzzle game found on Meez, a social Web gaming site. "StarShine" challenges you to fire a shooting star into other stars to light up the night sky. Similar to a game of marbles, you must use proper shooting angles and learn how different types of stars react when contacted to enjoy success. While the game doesn't include any official cheats, knowing some tips and tricks can help you complete the game's 50 levels.
  1. Patterns

    • Look for patterns in each level's star distribution to give you an advantage in trying to plan your best possible shot. For example, blue stars always split into two, with each piece shooting out to the sides in perpendicular angles to the original shot. Targeting a group of blue stars arranged in a box or an L pattern can prove highly beneficial, letting you trigger an effective chain reaction.

    Backtracking

    • If you can't figure out how to attack a level, pick a star that you know will react in a certain way and then backtrack from there to determine how that star would have to be hit to create the greatest benefit. For example, purple stars always shoot to the side at a 45-degree angle. Knowing this, backtrack to see which star would have to hit the purple star from the desired angle. Backtrack from that star in the same manner. Keep backtracking until you determine the correct starting point.

    Level 40

    • A particularly perplexing puzzle, Level 40 features 11 stars, including one green star, two blue stars, four light purple stars and four dark purple stars. Position your shooting star on the left side of the boundary circle, slightly higher than nine o'clock, and target the group of four stars clustered just inside the opposite right boundary. Aim for the light purple star in front, splitting it so it streaks back across the circle and eliminates the stars on the left.

    Level 49

    • Level 49 includes nine total stars, with six located in the lower half of the circle. Position your shooting star along the bottom right portion of the boundary. Aim at the orange star located just above and to the left of the center dot. On its way to the target, your shooting star will strike a dark purple star and kick it up and across the circle to collide with a blue star, while the orange star splits into three and eliminates the remaining stars.

    Level 50

    • The game's final puzzle, Level 50 contains 14 stars. The layout consists of four light purple stars across the top, five light purple stars across the bottom and three blue stars and two dark purple stars stretched throughout the middle. Position your shooting star toward the upper left of the boundary circle and aim it at the lone dark purple star in the lower right portion of the circle. Your shooting star's direct line of flight will strike the tip of another dark purple star and the edges of two blue stars, triggering an extensive chain reaction that lights up the entire sky and finishes the game.
