Functions
The PDP Headbanger Headset introduces voice communication to the Wii, serving as the first and only headset to allow multiplayer online chats during game play. The headset creates full interaction between players, letting them share strategies, issue commands or even talk trash. The headset eliminates the need for clumsy cellphone conversations during play and elevates the gaming experience.
Description
Probably more accurately described as an earpiece, the PDP Headbanger Headset contains only one earphone that can attach to either ear thanks to a thin plastic support frame that wraps around the ear. The microphone extends from the earpiece into position to pick up sound.
Features
Despite its sleek, compact design, the PDP Headbanger Headset doesn't skimp on features. The earpiece contains an integrated volume control and mute button, with LED indicators to signal system live and mute functions. Both the microphone and the earpiece feature noise-canceling technology for the clearest audio possible. You can also adjust the flexible microphone boom to ensure comfort and proper performance.
Types
The standard PDP Headbanger Headset is white in color, matching the Wii and all other traditional Wii accessories. PDP also released special limited edition "Call of Duty: Black Ops" and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" headsets, each black in color and featuring the respective game title stamped on the outside of the earpiece.
Considerations
The PDP Headbanger Headset for the Wii retails for roughly $25, regardless of the specific edition. The headset uses a 10-foot USB cable to connect to the Nintendo Wii and lacks wireless technology, limiting your movement while playing. Because the device requires a specific internal operating system written into the game disc to work, the headset is incompatible with previous Wii Speak titles and works with only the three aforementioned games. Additional compatible games may be produced in the future.
