Resident Evil 4 Bottle Caps What Happens When I Get Them All?

A horror-themed, third-person shooter for the Nintendo GameCube and the PlayStation 2, "Resident Evil 4" stars Leon Kennedy, a former police officer who survived a zombie attack to then train with the U.S. government as a special agent. Kennedy must now travel to an undisclosed village in Spain to rescue the President's daughter from a deadly cult. Throughout the game, Kennedy earns special bottle caps as trophy achievements.
  1. Identification

    • A "Resident Evil 4" bottle cap is actually a trophy and not something pried off a beer bottle. Each bottle cap consists of a blue circular base with a figure mounted on top. Each figure depicts a different character from the Resident Evil franchise. You can view your earned bottle caps under the "Treasures" section on your inventory screen.

    Function

    • You earn bottle cap trophies for successfully completing the four shooting range mini-games located in the Main Hall, the Painting Hall, the Merchant Cave and the Artillery Room. Each shooting range requires you to meet six separate objectives, three with a rapid-fire gun and three with a sniping gun. Shooting enemy targets and not hitting friendly targets earns you points, with 4,000 or more points needed to clear the third objective with each weapon.

    Features

    • Each shooting range mini-game includes six bottle cap trophies, making for a total of 24 bottle caps. The first set of bottle caps includes Leon with a rocket launcher, Leon with a shotgun, Leon with a handgun, Ashley Graham, Luis Sera and Ada Wong. The second shooting range's bottle caps include Don Jose, Don Diego, Don Esteban, Don Manuel, Dr. Salvador and Bella Sisters. The third shooting range's bottle caps include the Merchant, Zealot with a scythe, Zealot with a bowgun, Zealot with a shield, Leader Zealot and Don Pedro. The fourth set of bottle caps includes Soldier with dynamite, Soldier with stun-rod, Soldier with hammer, Isabel, Maria and J.J.

    Misconceptions

    • Despite what many gamers think, collecting all 24 bottle caps doesn't unlock any special cheats or other distinct advantages. However, collecting all six bottle caps from a respective shooting range does bring with it a monetary bonus. After winning the six bottle caps, end the mini-game and then go talk to the Merchant, who rewards you with pesetas, the monetary currency of the Spanish village. Winning the first range's bottle caps earns you 15,000 pesetas. Earning the second set of bottle caps wins 25,000 pesetas. Completing the third shooting range with all six bottle caps wins 35,000 pesetas. Finally, winning all six bottle caps on the fourth shooting range earns 50,000 pesetas.
