Instructions

    • 1

Determine how many milk crates you want to use as targets for the game. Consider the age of the children you are making the game for. For example, four and five year old children will probably only need three milk crate targets to aim for, while older children, such as children over the age of ten, may stay interested in the game longer if you use seven or eight milk crates as targets.

    • 2

Cut a variety of pieces of colored construction paper to fit around the outsides of the milk crate. Use a different color for each milk crate in order to help draw attention to each of the individual targets. Tape the pieces of paper around the outside of the milk crates on each side.

    • 3

Label the pieces of construction paper carefully based on the difficulty of the target. For example, draw a number "5" on the closest target, representing five points that the child will receive when she hits that target. For the further targets, draw higher numbers representing more points for increased difficulty. You can also draw fun pictures and images on the milk crates, pertaining to your child's unique interests.

Place the milk crates in a variety of locations in your yard. Place a piece of tape on the yard to show each child where he will have to stand and aim the bean bags. You can either place the milk crates in a straight line, for a Bozzo style game, or place them in random locations throughout the yard.
