Obstacle Course Games for Teens

Teen games play an integral role in a teenager̵7;s life as they keep them occupied and mentally stimulated. Burning of excess energy during these activities ensures the teen maintains a healthy lifestyle and stays in good shape. Playing games also teaches teens the essence of teamwork as they work together in completing the challenges. Games must capture the teenagers' attention as they might easily get bored, so intriguing and fun activities in the form of obstacle course games are essential.
  1. Splash Attack

    • For this game, a big space the size of a football field is needed for maximum enjoyment. Provide the teens with many water balloons as possible for ammunition. Divide the group into two teams and the field into two territories. Allocate each team a territory where they place their flag, in a location that is visible and accessible to the other team. Teams can use two tables, a ladder and four chairs to shield their territory. The objective of the game is to collect the other team̵7;s flag without getting hit by water balloons thrown by opponents. Any player who is hit by the balloon from an opponent is placed in a designated jail, and the penalty of hitting the referee is losing three players. This game can be played in three rounds and the team that captures the opponent̵7;s flag is declared the winner.

    Missile Range

    • Divide the teenagers into teams of five or six people and tape off the spot where the team will stand, then place a garbage can five feet away. Provide each team with 40 balloons and let them select a goal keeper. After blowing the whistle, every member is to blow up the balloon and aim at trying to get it into the trash can. Every team is given a minute to get as many balloons into the can as possible with four points awarded for getting it into the can, and one point if it hits the garbage bin.

    Leaky Bucket

    • After dividing the teenagers into two teams, each is given a leaky bucket. Every team member is given the opportunity to carry water by placing the leaky bucket on the head and fill an empty bucket placed 25 feet away. Every teen gets wet during this race and the first team to fill the bucket wins the contest.

    Building Blind

    • Teenagers work in triads with one of them designated as the leader while the other two are builders. The builders are blindfolded while the leader can see the simple structure constructed from toy bricks or tinker toys. The group is provided with identical building materials as those used in making the structure. The leader cannot touch the building material, but instead gives precise verbal guidance to the blindfolded builders on how to make a similar structure. This game helps teenagers in learning how to work together as a team.
