Angry Birds Will Not Open

When you attempt to launch the ̶0;Angry Birds̶1; app on your phone and it does not launch, you can troubleshoot the issue before contacting the developer for assistance. The game's failure to launch can result from various factors, including a need to update the app or the phone's memory card.
  1. Soft Reset

    • If your ̶0;Angry Birds̶1; app will not open, you can perform a soft reset on your phone to potentially resolve the issue. For an Apple iPhone, turn off the phone and restart it after one minute. For other mobile phones including Android-powered phones, remove the battery cover and battery. Depending on your phone, you can either slide or lift the battery cover off. Replace the battery after one minute and turn on the phone. After the reset, attempt to launch the app again.

    Update App

    • Your ̶0;Angry Birds̶1; app may have a bug that needs to be fixed. The developers of the app provide fixes to identified bugs through updates. Open the application store from which you downloaded the app and check for an update. For instance, tap the ̶0;Market̶1; icon on your phone if you use an Android phone. Tap ̶0;Downloads.̶1; If an update is available, tap ̶0;Update.̶1; In the Apple App Store, touch the ̶0;Updates̶1; icon and touch ̶0;Install̶1; on the ̶0;Angry Birds̶1; update if one is available.

    Uninstall/Reinstall

    • Occasionally, you may need to uninstall and reinstall an app that does not work. If you are still unable to launch ̶0;Angry Birds,̶1; uninstall it. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app provides the latest version of the game. You will not be prompted to purchase the app again when you reinstall. Any progress you made in the game may be lost when you delete the app. If you use an iPhone, you can restore the phone to a previous state in which the app did work to get your game progress back.

    Memory Card

    • In rare instances, the cause of the ̶0;Angry Birds̶1; app not opening is the phone's memory card. If the card was mounted through USB during installation, you will need to uninstall the app, unmount the memory card and reinstall the app. Unmount the memory card by touching ̶0;Turn Off USB Storage̶1; card on your phone. You do not need to disconnect your phone from the computer. After confirmation is displayed on your phone that USB storage is off, reinstall the app.

    "Angry Birds Lite"

    • In some cases, "Angry Birds" may not launch on an Android-powered device because your the phone does not meet the hardware or software criteria to play the game. "Angry Birds" is available to Android phones running Android version 1.6 and up. If your phone is running an earlier version, you can download "Angry Birds Lite." The lite version of the game is a modified version specifically for phones with lower processing power. You can download the lite version from the Android Market. "Angry Birds Lite" is in beta as of October, 2011.
