Adult Professional Games to Play at a Work Party

Office parties give co-workers a chance to come together for a little fun outside of the everyday workplace. When planning an office party, you can organize a few games that are entertaining yet still keep a professional atmosphere. Games give employees a chance to mingle with other employees they already know and also make new friendships with unfamiliar co-workers. Persuade everyone to play along by awarding prizes to all game winners.
  1. Trivia

    • Create a trivia game using questions about everyone in the office. Ask questions like ̶0;What is Bob̵7;s favorite drink from Starbucks?̶1; or ̶0;What is Jessica̵7;s phone extension?̶1; Give everyone a sheet of paper to write down their answers. The player who answers the most questions correctly wins the game. Another idea is to divide the co-workers into two teams. Ask each team a question and award them with one point for each correct answer. The team with the most points wins the game.

    Guessing Games

    • Before the office party, take a few items from different offices around the workplace. Examples of items you can take include a stapler, coffee mug, bobblehead and plush animal. Place the items on a table and hold up each item for the players to see. Players must write down the name of the person they think the item belongs to. The player who gets the most right wins the game. You can also divide the employees into teams of three or four and allow them to work together to complete this challenge.

    Icebreakers

    • Plan a game of icebreaker bingo to get the employees mingling. Print bingo cards with attributes like ̶0;has blue eyes,̶1; ̶0;has two children̶1; and ̶0;has a miniature schnauzer.̶1; Give each player a bingo card and have him walk around trying to find employees that meet the attributes. The first player to bingo and yell ̶0;I love my job̶1; wins a prize. Another idea for bingo is simply write different employee names in the bingo squares. Call out employee names and the first player to bingo wins the game and a prize. Have each employee raise their hand and call out his name so unfamiliar faces get a chance to learn names.

    Holiday

    • For a Christmas holiday party, have each player bring a small gift with a certain value amount like $5. Write a number on all of the gifts. Have players draw a number and receive the gift with the corresponding number to take home. Another idea is to have everyone sit in a circle. Wrap prizes in several layers of wrapping paper. Hand one prize to someone in the circle. Pass the gift around the circle while playing Christmas music. When the music stops, the player holding the gift can unwrap one layer. The player who unwraps the final layer of paper wins the prize.
