The Simpsons Game PS3 Walkthrough Guide

"The Simpsons Game" for the PS3 brings Springfield to life, letting you play as the whole Simpson clan in a wacky, often incoherent adventure. Like its cartoon inspiration, the game features plenty of comedy with Homer, Bart and the rest of the Simpson family and friends poking fun at the video game industry through a series of clever parodies, all in an effort to save their hometown from an alien invasion. Yet there's little humor in some of the game's challenging puzzles and tricky boss battles.
  1. Level 13

    • In Episode 13, "Medal of Homer," you must rendezvous with Grandpa Simpson and Private Burns and then collect 24 flags scattered about the town. Use Bart for this mission, because he's the only character who can reach some of the flags. The game provides a map with each flag's location, but some flags are more difficult to collect than others. For instance, you can't approach the ninth flag directly. Instead, go across the street to the house emitting smoke from its chimney. Jump on the house's front awning to leap up to the balcony and then bounce off a trampoline to the roof. Now use Bart's Bartman cape to catch the smoke and glide across to the ninth flag.

    Level 14

    • On Level 14, "Big Super Happy Fun Fun," you need to find three lanterns and place them on pillars around Mr. Sparkle to free him from a giant toilet. Use Lisa and try to avoid the level's numerous sumo wrestlers who try to squash you, or you can play Lisa's sax to stun them. Go left and interact with the meditation point, allowing you to summon Buddha's hand, which can lift the house to your left and reveal the first lantern. A second meditation point sits atop the hill. Summon Buddha's hand to pick up the house to the left and reveal the second lantern. Continuing left and crossing the wooden ramp reaches the final meditation point. The third lantern sits beneath the middle house. After you free Mr. Sparkle, you progress through the level until you eventually face Sherri and Terri's Sparklemon, an enchanted pink unicorn. Use Lisa's freeze attacks and Homer's burps to defeat Sparklemon and complete the level.

    Level 15

    • Level 15, "Five Characters in Search of an Author," involves tracking down "The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening. When you reach Groening's mansion, you need to step on the colored tiles and ring the door bells in the same order in which they light up to open the front doors. The correct sequence is purple, orange, pink, black, white, right doorbell, left doorbell and blue. When done correctly, the tiles and bells play the theme to "The Simpsons" TV show.

    Level 16

    • "Game Over," the game's sixteenth and final level, forces you to fight William Shakespeare, Benjamin Franklin and God. Franklin proves the toughest challenge. Use Bart's slingshot to attack Franklin from as far away as possible. Continually move left and right as you shoot to avoid Franklin's counterattacks. Enough damage splits Franklin into two smaller Franklins, who then split a second time. Stick with the same strategy, firing slingshot volleys from a distance until you defeat all the Franklins. If you run out of ammunition, race in and grab some of the energy the Franklins drop.
