Twisted Lands: Shadow Town Tips

Basics

• You must find 12 items in each hidden-object scene, with one usable item added to your inventory upon completion. Don't just randomly click the screen in hopes of chancing upon one of the items you need to find. Clicking something other than a hidden object causes a mist to obscure the screen for a few seconds, locking you out and only adding to your frustration. If you ever get stuck, click the mirror in the bottom right corner of the screen to reveal the location of one item. You won't be able to use the mirror again for 90 seconds.

Stalled Boat

• When the game opens, Mark and his fiancee Angel are on a stalled boat. Try using the funnel and gas can to fuel the boat, and then attempt to start the ignition with the key. When the key breaks, click the chest to enter a hidden-object scene. Finding all the objects gives you a knife, which you can then use to pry open the ignition and reveal broken circuit wires that need reattaching.

Island

• After showing Angel a snake statuette, Mark passes out and wakes up stranded on an island, with the boat crashed and no sign of Angel. Selecting the sparkling area of the boat triggers a hidden-object scene that rewards you with a stepladder. Use the stepladder to gain access to a cave not far from the boat. Collect the keys you find in the cave, and then use your flashlight to explore a dark hole that leads to a door. Place the snake statuette into one of the many indentations surrounding the door. You can now return to the boat and play another hidden-object game, this time earning pliers that you can use to cut the chain-link fence surrounding the beach.

Abandoned Ship

• After walking through the cut fence, explore the area to find a cigarette case and an old abandoned ship. Find a grappling hook near a small fire on the shore, and then use it to enter a large hole in the ship's hull. Inside, you'll find a broken pink laptop on a bed. Continue to explore the ship to discover a snake statuette on the stairs. Playing another hidden-object game will earn you a chisel you can use to bust open a locked nightstand drawer in one of the ship's main rooms. The drawer contains a scalpel and a cellphone charger.

Scalpel

• Once you have the scalpel, walk back through the ship and look for a bunched up area of carpet. Use the scalpel to slice through the bunched carpet to uncover a trap door that requires three keys to open. You'll also need the scalpel to slice open a painting in the room to the far left. The painting hides a safe containing body oil and another snake statuette -- items you'll need to advance later in the game.
