Puzzle Activities
You need 14 players to play a game of down to one, according to the Ultimate Camp Resource website. Place 15 circles made from construction paper on the ground in the following formation: four on the bottom row, three on the next row, two on the next row and one up top. This will create a pyramid. Have 14 players select one circle to stand on it. Players must ̶0;jump̶1; or go around one another to eliminate each other. The object of the game is to have one player left on the board. Players can only jump a player standing next to them and only one player can move at a time. Another idea is to cut large puzzle pieces from plywood and have teams work together to put the pieces together.
Relay Races
For kids, relay races can teach cooperation and teamwork to players. Mark a starting line and finish line 25 feet apart. Have each player select a partner and line up at the starting line. One player must get on the ground on her hands, while her partner grabs a hold of her ankles for a wheelbarrow race. The first team across the finish line wins the game. You can also organize a three-legged relay race. Use a soft rope to tie the players̵7; inside legs together. The first team to the finish line wins.
Blindfold Activities
Create a hunt by hiding several items, such as party favors and balls, indoors or outdoors. Divide the players into two teams and blindfold each player except one leader for each team. The leader must verbally guide his players to the items. The first team to have each player find one item wins the game. Alternatively, play the game in pairs and have one player guide his partner to several items. Another idea is to create an obstacle course using cones, cardboard boxes and hula-hoops. The players must guide their blindfolded teammates or partners through the course.
Ball Activities
Divide players into two teams and draw a line down the middle of the room. Give each team 20 balls in different colors. For example, give one team 20 red balls and the other team 20 blue balls. When you say ̶0;Go,̶1; players must roll, toss or kick the balls to the other side of the line. The first team to get all 20 of their balls over the line at the same time wins the game. Another idea is to have a timed game. Set a timer for five minutes and the team who has the most balls on the opposite side in 10 minutes wins the game.
