Plot
King Roland once relied on wand-wielding magicians called Wandoliers to help the kingdom's citizens. But when the Wandoliers all retired, the kingdom fell into despair, prompting King Roland to search for new Wandoliers. Your goal is to help restore peace and happiness to the kingdom. Your tasks usually involve building something or painting and decorating items. Sample objectives include helping a robot open a diner and assisting a zombie who wants to refurbish his graveyard.
Characters
The game allows you to design your own character with a few simple points of the Wii remote. You can cycle through texture sets and pick from a variety of facial and body features, selecting just the right hairstyles, shirts and pants to make your character in your own image, if desired. You'll also interact with a number of other characters throughout the game, including your best friends Buddy and Lyndsay, who accompany you on many of your quests.
Essences
To get the necessary materials to build or redecorate, you'll first have to collect essences, which act as the game's currency. You can pluck essences from certain trees or earn them for performing activities like fishing, mining, wood chopping and treasure hunting. Pressing 1 on the Wii remote brings up a map detailing good spots to mine and to fish.
Building
As a Wandolier, you'll be called upon to build various items, from houses to generators and everything in between. The game's Building mode guides you through the process, providing transparent outlines for missing components and allowing for easy snap-together assembling of pieces. The types of building projects you'll perform depend on where you are in the game, with the Kingdom's various islands each having a specific theme.
Socializing
While not as prominent or complicated as in the original "The Sims" games, socializing still plays a role in "MySims Kingdom." You'll need to interact with fellow citizens and foster healthy relationships to accomplish certain objectives. If you get off on the wrong foot with someone, you'll need to make amends and repair the relationship if you ever hope to work together.
