How to Get the Maximum Points in Bejeweled

"Bejeweled" is an online game for computers and mobile devices which is also available on console game systems. The game consists of different types of jewels arranged in eight rows and eight columns. Each jewel may switch places with any jewel immediately above, beside or below it, and players must select jewels to rotate in such a manner as to create combinations of two or more similar jewels. As players progress through levels and accumulate points, creating combos becomes more difficult, and new types of jewels are introduced.

  Connect jewel pairings of three or more, disregarding lone pairs of jewels.

  Blur your vision by "unfocusing" your eyes and not looking directly at the details of the screen. This will prevent you from being distracted from other items on the screen -- such as the time counter -- and allow you to see the patterns in the jewels more easily.

  Begin by making matches as close to the bottom as possible. This may result in larger matches and a larger number of new jewels dropped from the top.

  Save up coins won in the game until you have enough to purchase rare gems, which can help you score large point bonuses.

  Pay attention only to groups of 3s. At the beginning, try to get as many groups of 3s as possible to build up your speed score, and then begin looking for larger point-earning combos. Do not become focused on singular goals.
