Cheats & Walkthroughs for MotorStorm: Pacific Drift on PS3

In "MotorStorm: Pacific Rift" for the PS3, sometimes mistakenly referred to as "MotorStorm: Pacific Drift," you get the chance to race a variety of vehicles against aggressive competitors in sprawling off-road courses. Your success depends not only on your skills as a driver but also on the vehicle you choose. Each motorbike, car or big rig has its own strengths and weaknesses. The game includes a few cheats and unlockable surprises to add even more excitement.

Events
- You can unlock hidden bonus events with strong performances during competition. If you finish a zone among the top three and also come in under the time limit, you'll unlock special Speed events. Finish among the top three and complete the zone under the wreck limit and you'll unlock Eliminator events.
Trophies
- Successfully completing certain tasks during races can earn you up to 50 commemorative trophies. For instance, winning five races on each track earns the Track Master trophy. Participating in 250 races earns the Race Fan trophy. Beating the game developer's best times on every track with every vehicle captures the Hire Me trophy. The most valuable trophy of all, the Over Achiever award, requires you to unlock all 49 other trophies.
Trophy Vehicles
- More than just shiny ornaments for your mantle, trophies can also unlock secret vehicles. Winning the aforementioned Hire Me trophy unlocks the Wombat Typhoon Buggy. Earning the Over Achiever trophy unlocks the Atlas Earthquake Monster Truck. All told, the game features 18 trophies that unlock vehicles. A few other trophy vehicles include the Race Fan's Voodoo Thunder Lizard Monster Truck, the Hero trophy's Nord Viking Big Rig and the Legend trophy's Monarch Deerstalker ATV.
Vehicles
- Strong performances on the festival circuit will earn points and improve your ranking. Each time you progress in rank, you'll unlock a group of vehicles. Climbing all the way to rank 5 unlocks a pack of vehicles that includes the Atlas Jackhammer Mudplugger, the Aztec Sabretooth ATV, the Castro Conquistador Racing Truck, the Humbler Diablo Buggy, the Lunar-Tec Buffalo Big Rig and the Mohawk Roadhog Bike. The highest rank, rank 8, requires 7400 points and opens up a group that includes the Castro Toro Rally Car, the Jester BXR Buggy, the Molotov Drago Big Rig, the Monarch Champ Bike and the Patriot Bushwacker Mudplugger.
Scorched Shortcut
- On the Scorched Track, you can utilize two shortcuts to save time. Towards the end of the track, you'll be able to ride right through the middle of a large crater, especially if you're on a dirt bike. Also, at the beginning of the track, ride all the way to the right and you'll spot signs directing you to a secret shortcut through a bunch of rocks.
Vehicle Choice
- The game groups tracks into four zones: Air, Fire, Water and Earth. For the most success, choose a motorcycle, an ATV, a buggy or a rally car for the Air Zone. ATVs, racing trucks, buggies, big rigs and mudpluggers work best in the Fire Zone. A buggy, a rally car, a racing truck, a big rig or a monster truck ensures the most success in the Water Zone. All vehicles work well in the Earth Zone.
