How to Create Your Own Vampire Coven Games

Vampires have long been part of supernatural lore. The "Twilight" books, which have now been adapted into films, have in part helped spawn a number of vampire movies and television shows, such as "True Blood" and "The Vampire Diaries." There are various vampire games online, where players can become part of a coven. Create your own vampire coven games with a traditional twist -- design a trivia or board game with a vampire theme.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide what kind of vampire coven game you want to make. You can choose to create a trivia game with question cards, or a board game where players take turns rolling dice and advancing. You can create a hybrid of the two, as well; players can roll the dice and land on a category in which they must answer a question about vampire lore before advancing, for example. Deciding on a kind of game will allow you to determine a strategy for playing the game; the object of your vampire coven game may be to hunt down other players and convert them to your coven or for all the members of your coven to reach their gathering place before your opponents.

    • 2

Design your game depending on which kind of game you want to make. Consider how many players will be needed to play the game; any trivia or board game requires at least two players. Determine the maximum number of players possible and design the game accordingly. If you choose to design a board game, create the board using black mat board and create squares using colored stock paper; your squares can be black and red to match the vampire theme, and you can decorate the board according to traditional vampire lore such as a Transylvanian castle or deep, dark forest.

    • 3

Create categories for your vampire coven game. Categories can include traditional vampire lore, vampires in popular culture and vampires in television and film. You can shuffle the cards to use in a trivia game, or divide them based on category to use in a board game. Make your trivia or category cards using index cards; write the vampire coven category on one side of the card and the trivia question and answer on the other side. You can use different colored ink, like black, red and silver, to write the questions and answers. Design at least 100 trivia or category cards for your game so that you will not come across the same card twice while playing.

    • 4

Create game pieces for your vampire coven game. For example, each piece could represent a different vampire coven from vampire lore, literature, television and film. Your game pieces could have images of Dracula from Bram Stoker's "Dracula" or vampires like Edward and Alice from Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series. Having game pieces allows players to play individually or in teams to represent their favorite coven.
