Description
The Legend of the West Outfit features a long, dark duster coat, tall boots and a dark hat, resembling something Clint Eastwood would have worn in one of his classic Western movies. Merely unlocking the outfit doubles the capacity of your Dead-eye targeting meter, making you even more lethal as a marksman. To earn the Legend of the West Outfit, you need to reach rank 10 on all four Ambient Challenges.
Cheat Code
In newspaper No. 60, you'll find the cheat code "Don't you look fine and dandy." Enter that code in the Cheat Menu under Options and you'll unlock the Gentleman's Suit and the Legend of the West Outfit. However, using a cheat code prohibits you from winning any future trophies or achievements, and an asterisk will mark all future saves as cheat saves.
Survivalist Challenge
If you don't want to use the cheat, you'll have to complete the four Ambient Challenges. Accessing the Survivalist Challenge requires you to pick a Wild Feverfew plant. In doing so, you'll trigger a series of challenges that'll have you collecting various types of plants. You'll progress in rank with the more plants you collect. After achieving rank 9, you'll need to collect 10 Violet Snowdrops and two more of every available herb to reach rank 10 and complete the mission.
Sharpshooter Challenge
Shooting five birds from the sky will enter you into the Sharpshooter Challenge. Improving ranks requires you to complete tasks like shooting five rabbits, shooting five coyotes or shooting five birds from a moving train. As you progress, the challenges increase in difficulty. Finishing rank 10 calls for you to disarm six enemies without reloading or changing weapons.
Master Hunter Challenge
Killing and skinning a coyote initiates the Master Hunter Challenge. Coyotes come out at night and roam the southern region of the map, especially just southeast of Punta Orgullo. Advancing through the challenge's ranks necessitates killing and skinning a variety of animals, including wolves, deer, raccoons, skunks and cougars. Completing rank 10 means collating the pelts of Lobo the legendary wolf, Brumas the legendary bear and Gordo the legendary boar.
Treasure Hunter Challenge
Keep an eye out for a random encounter with a treasure hunter. You'll be called upon to save his life. If you do, he'll present you with a treasure map, completing the first step in the Treasure Hunter Challenge. You then need to use the map to find nine hidden treasures to complete the entire mission and get closer to gaining the Legend of the West Outfit. Even if the treasure hunter dies during your attempt to save him, you can still inspect his corpse to find the map.
