Cheats for Tenchu: Time of the Assassins

Set in 16th-century Japan, the "Tenchu" series of video games features two ninjas, Rikimaru and Ayame, attempting to protect their master Lord Gohda against a demonic sorcerer. "Tenchu: Time of the Assassins" continues the story on the PlayStation Portable. In an effort to enhance play, the game includes several cheats to unlock characters and story modes.

Onikage
- The game allows you to play as the ninjas Rikimaru, Ayame, Rin or Tesshu, competing in separate story modes for each character. If you beat all four story modes, you'll unlock Onikage as a playable character. Onikage is Rikimaru's chief nemesis from the "Tenchu" series and calls on the forces of darkness to give him mystical powers. The game includes an "Onikage" story mode which, once completed, unlocks a ninja dog character and a bear character.
Modes
- Aside from the "Onikage" story mode, the game also includes two other hidden special missions: "Illusion" and "Tenchu." To unlock the "Illusion" special mission, you need to complete the "Onikage" story under "Gallery" mode. Competing the "Illusion" special mission under "Gallery" mode will then unlock the "Tenchu" special mission and the policeman, the salary-man samurai and the "Mr. D" characters. Beating the "Tenchu" secret mission will then unlock Echigoya and the merchant characters.
Hidden Characters
- If you defeat the "Rikimaru" story mode, you'll unlock Tatsumaru as a hidden character. A highly skilled ninja, Tatsumaru served as a mentor to a young Rikimaru and preceded him into the Azuma clan. Completing the story mode for Rin, a lethal female ninja, unlocks Juzo and Tajima Eigoro. Finishing the "Tesshu" story mode unlocks Shinogi and Jinnai. Beating the "Ayame" story mode unlocks Jonosuke and Mifuyu.
Other Characters
- The game includes a number of hidden minor characters. Completing all four story modes will unlock a monk, a Shimatsuya female, a Shimatsuya doctor, a Shimatsuya samurai, a Shimatsuya villager, a ninja, a samurai and a ronin. Beating these same story modes will also unlock Kunoichi, Kuroya Jonin, Kuroya Jo-Kunoichi and Kenpo Bozo.
Chameleon Spells
- During the game, chameleon spells help you avoid detection. To load up on free chameleon spells, go to "level select" and choose your character. Complete the "Ishitsuki Scandal" mission with a ranking of Grand Master or Assassin. You'll now have extra chameleon spells. Just repeat the same process to acquire additional spells.
