How to Replace a Schoolcraft Flipper Coin's Rubber Band

The Schoolcraft Gravity Flipper coin is a trick coin used by professional and amateur magicians alike. The mechanism that produces the magic effect is rubber-band driven, and occasionally the band will break. Luckily, it can be changed in minutes. A normal rubber band can be used, but a replacement band from Schoolcraft is recommended by the manufacturer to ensure proper performance of the magic coin.

Instructions

    • 1

Pry the insert off the shell of the flipper coin, using the small screwdriver.

    • 2

Remove the old rubber band. Connect the replacement rubber band by looping it in the groove on the larger side of the coin. Connect the smaller piece of the magic coin to the rubber band, making a complete coin.

    • 3

Cut a tiny piece of the double-sided tape and place it on the back of the insert with the tweezers. Press the insert back into the flipper coin's shell.

    • 4

Test your coin's mechanism to ensure the band is in place correctly.
