"Submarine"
From publisher Winning Moves, "Submarine" pits players against one another in an effort to grab the most sunken treasure. Players set up the game's board with up to 60 treasure tiles that each player attempts to capture. Players draw cards that allow them to move their submarine, coordinate with topside ships to raise treasure and interfere with their opponents' radio transmissions. The first player to fill their ship's cargo bay with treasure wins the game. "Submarine" is suitable for players 10 and up and can accommodate two to five players.
"Red November"
"Red November" allows players to assume the role of gnomish sailors on a submarine in peril. Played on a board that maps out each room of the submarine, players must find a way to stop the sub's nuclear reactor from overloading, prevent the nuclear missiles from launching, extinguish all fires and avoid the kraken that lurks nearby before they run out of oxygen. Players divide the responsibilities of stopping these event among themselves, and must keep the submarine afloat long enough for help to arrive. "Red November" can accommodate between one and eight players ages 12 and up.
"Run Silent, Run Deep"
"Run Silent, Run Deep" recreates the tactical action of submarine warfare during World War II. Players can choose a variety of game modes that range from protecting a convoy, to tracking down and sinking enemy ships. Players secretly map out their submarine locations on game cards, and must contend with evading enemy sonar, torpedo attacks, colliding with other players and targeting their own attacks. Recommended for players 12 and up, "Run Silent, Run Deep" requires between two and six players and can take several hours to complete.
"Dangerous Waters"
A video game from developer Sonalysts, "Dangerous Waters" allows players to simulate the piloting of a submarine. The game's multiplayer mode allows players to control each of the submarine's 17 different control panels. Working as a team, players coordinate their efforts to pilot the sub through that game's campaign mode using one of the nine available U.S. and Soviet submarine classes. "Dangerous Waters" is suitable for all ages, and the game's online multiplayer support allows up to 17 players on any one sub.
