Levant
Levant, the only playable character of the first "Jade Cocoon," returns for the sequel, having won eternal life as reward for saving the Sacred Forests. Now Levant guards Kemmel Temple, one of the game's four temples. Levant acts as a mentor for Kahu, the sequels young hero, sharing his wisdom and experiences as a Cocoon Master.
Kahu
Kahu, a young aspiring Cocoon Master, follows in Levant's footsteps and soon faces a similar challenge. When a great evil begins taking over the Sacred Forests surrounding his village, Kahu must rise to the occasion and save the world. To do this, he grows and nurtures his own army of minion beasts and monsters. But when an evil parasite known as a Kalma infects him, Kahu must try and find the four ancient orbs of the Sacred Forests to save his life.
Nam
Nam hails from the village Polo Polo tribe, which is famous for its brave soldiers. Kahu's main competition for the Fire Orb, Nam is also studying to become a Cocoon Master. Nam believes his minions should be strong above all else, often placing him in direct conflict with Kahu.
Nico
A sharp-tongued female fairy, Nico follows Kahu wherever he goes, cursing him for accidentally awakening her in his struggles with the Kalma. She helps look after Kahu's monsters, although her attitude doesn't always make her the best companion. Nico often makes fun of Kahu and ridicules his abilities.
Cure
A native of the Sacred Forests, Cure appears as a human girl with blue skin, red hair and wings. She resembles one of the Holy Monsters, making her an outcast from society. Despite possessing a wild streak, Cure prefers to avoid conflict and will only fight as a last resort. However, she also has a Kalma inhabiting her body that will sometimes turn her into a dangerous dragon. She hopes to use the Water Orb to transform into a normal human girl.
Kalma
Kalma are parasitic monsters intent on destroying the world. Resembling large bugs, Kalma have bony arms and legs covered in orange plating and spikes. Their razor-sharp claws can also inflict serious damage. They'll do whatever it takes to corrupt the Sacred Forests. Only Kahu can drive them off and save the day.
