How to Lay Floating Blocks

Infants often play with floating blocks when taking a bath. Generally made of foam, these blocks come in various colors. Children can lay them out on the water and stack them without having to worry about the blocks sinking to the bottom. You'll always find it a learning experience trying to help your child understand how to lay floating blocks properly so they can stack up.

Instructions

  Fill the bathtub up about half full. Set your child in the bathtub, and dump all the floating blocks into the tub.

  Pick up a block and press it against the side of the tub to squeeze out the water that has soaked into it. Lay out the first block in the tub and let it float freely. Set a second block next to it so they abut each other.

  Install the entire row straight across the tub as evenly as possible. Do not run any water when laying the floating blocks, or they will move out of position and not lay straight.

  Set the first block of the second row on the first and second blocks of the first row so it overlaps. Install the remaining blocks all the way across so a pyramid shape begins to form. Install the third row with one less block than the second, and continue in the same manner all the way up to your desired height.
