Place three folding tables in an open space where the game will be played. Lay a pretty tablecloth over each table to add some decoration.
Collect articles of clothing such as dresses and sweaters, and accessories that may include scarves, costume jewelry and purses. Fold and display the items on the tables, making one table for tops, one for dresses and one for accessories.
Make a fake shop sign using a poster board and markers. Write a store name on the poster board such as "Bella's Boutique." Tape the sign up on a wall near the tables.
Create shopping bags for the store by taping construction paper over the logos of department store bags. Write the fake boutique name over each new label.
Give players a set amount of play money from a toy store or board game. Make each article of clothing for sale a certain amount of money, such as $10 for clothing items and $5 for all accessories. Let players choose as many items as they can afford.
Instruct the shop owner player to collect money and place it in a toy cash register, then place purchased items into one of the custom-made shopping bags.
