Pikmin Enemy Guide

Pikmin is a video game that involves the main character, Captain Olimar, trying to repair his crashed spaceship so he can return to his home planet. To find missing spaceship parts, Olimar must work with the Pikmin, the alien planet's part-animal, part-plant inhabitants. The Pikmin follow Olimar's orders, but they also encounter a number of enemies who try to disrupt their plans.
  1. Beady Long Legs

    • A spider-like creature, the beady long legs stomps around and can crush Pikmin beneath its feet. Throwing Pikmin, especially yellow Pikmin, at the beady long leg's orb-shaped body can defeat it, causing it to crumble to dust and surrender any captured belongings.

    Breadbug

    • Breadbugs, which look like walking dinner rolls, won't attack the Pikmin directly. Instead, the breadbugs steal valuable items and carry them back to their nests, spoiling the Pikmin's hard work. Throwing Pikmin on the breadbug's back can cause a little damage, but the best way to defeat them is to pile Pikmin onto the object the breadbug is swiping. The Pikmin can then lead the breadbug back to the ship, where the breadbug bangs its head and suffers more damage.

    Dwarf Bulborg

    • A fairly easy enemy to kill, a dwarf bulborb is a sub-species of breadbug that can be red, orange or white in coloring. Pikmin will typically encounter dwarf bulborbs in the Forest of Hope. To defeat the dwarf bulborg, sweep a series of Pikmin into it, preferably from behind.

    Fiery Blowhog

    • Located in Forest Navel, fiery blowhogs have long red snouts that shoot flames. If they get too close, Pikmin can catch on fire and burn to death. The best approach is to toss one Pikmin on the blowhog's back, wait for it to buck the Pikmin off and then immediately swarm the blowhog with a crowd of Pikmin. Swarming Pikmin won't catch fire. The only real danger comes when attacking near water, as the blowhog may buck Pikmin into the water to drown.

    Puffstool

    • A big walking mushroom, Puffstool can spray a toxic purple mist that turns Pikmin into his unwitting slaves. Affected Pikmin turn purple and grow brown mushroom caps on their heads. These Mushroom Pikmin will then attack their fellow Pikmin and Captain Olimar. Puffstool's large head is invulnerable to attack. Pikmin must swarm his legs to knock him over and inflict damage. Call back your Pikmin before Puffstool gets to his feet, or he will crush them.

    Shearwigs

    • Shearwigs look like beetles and live underground in Forest Navel and Distant Spring, but they can crawl to the surface and take flight. If rushed, shearwigs will fly away and counterattack, often killing Pikmin. Tossing individual Pikmin at them works best and can even knock them from the sky.
