Seal Puzzle

• In Level One, you have to collect four separate seals, each one depicting a different image or scene. Before entering Lord Montcaife's study, you have to arrange the seals in the correct order to solve a puzzle. From top to bottom, the correct seal order is the wolf seal, the bird seal, the stretching woman seal and the opposite facing twins seal.

Timed Torch

• Level Three contains a timed sequence that many players don't even realize is timed until it's too late and the clock has expired. The timer doesn't actually start until you light a torch. If the torch burns out before you can find another light source, you lose. Remember to save the game before lighting the torch so you can resume from that point if things go wrong. 

Wine Cellar

• In the destroyed wine cellar of Level Four, you must solve a puzzle before passing through a stone door. To start, press the first stone on the bottom of the right side of the door frame. Start on the next stone and count up, clicking on the third stone. Count up three more stones and click again on the stone just below the right corner stone. Now count two stones across the top from right to left, pressing on the third stone. Count three across and click the stone directly to the right of the left corner stone. Count the cornerstone and then turn down for two more stones, pressing the third stone. Count down three more stones and click the second stone from the bottom to finally open the door. 

Reception Hall

• When you go through the wine cellar, you enter a devastated reception hall. A painting on the hall's first landing hides a puzzle involving three levers. You can position each lever up, down or in the middle. On your first pass, move all three levers to the down position. Now move the middle lever all the way up, then move the first and third levels to the middle. The red lights above the levers should turn green, indicating the correct solution.  

Grid Puzzle

• You encounter a challenging black and white grid puzzle on Level Four which requires you to arrange the dots in the puzzle in a particular order to form a picture. If you get stuck, click the top right corner of the puzzle and the game activates a built-in cheat, causing a large portion of the puzzle to fill in. You can click the corner again and again until you reach the correct solution.
