How to Make a Badminton Case

Badminton is a popular sport played worldwide. The game is very similar to tennis. The beginnings of Badminton can be traced to mid-18th century British India. The sport is comprised of a rectangular court, feathered-like projective, a net and long, handled racket. You can easily buy these materials from a local sporting goods store. The equipment usually all comes in a cardboard box that can wear and tear over time. To make sure you keep your game equipment pieces all together, you can build a homemade case that will last for ages.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure a 3-foot by 1-foot rectangle on a piece of plywood using a tape measure. Mark the measurements with a pencil. Repeat this step an additional three times. Upon completion, you'll have four pieces of 3-foot by 1-foot plywood rectangles.

    • 2

Use a chainsaw to cut the four pieces of plywood out. One piece will serve as the case bottom. Another piece will serve as the case's top. The final two pieces will serve as the sides to the case.

    • 3

Measure a 1-foot by 1-foot square on a piece of plywood using a tape measure. Mark the measurements with a pencil. Repeat this step one more time. Upon completion, you'll have two pieces of 1-foot by 1-foot plywood squares.

    • 4

Use a chainsaw to cut the two pieces of plywood out. The two squares will enclose the sides to the Badminton case.

    • 5

Use a hammer and nails to attach the sides and bottom piece of the case together.

    • 6

Attach the square end pieces of plywood to the end of the case using a hammer and nails.

    • 7

Spray-paint the partially built case and the top remaining piece of 3-foot by 1-foot rectangular plywood with the color of your choice. Allow the paint to completely dry.

    • 8

Attach three wooden box hinges near the top of one of the side pieces using a hammer and nails. They should be spread about one foot apart from one another.

    • 9

Take the final remaining piece of cut out plywood and attach it to the other sides of the hinges, creating the lid to the Badminton case.

    • 10

Use a hammer and nails of the appropriate size to attach a chest handle in the middle of the case lid to easily open it as needed. You can purchase this product from a local hardware store.
