How to Make a Mini Baggo Game

Baggo is a backyard beanbag game where players take turns trying to toss beanbags in the hole of one of two gameboards. The gameboards, each with a small hole close to the top of the board, are set a few feet apart. Two teams of two players each toss four same-color beanbags toward opposite boards. Each player competes with a player from the opposite team, yet scores for himself and his partner at the opposite board. A mini Baggo game is played the same way, but in a smaller area, indoors or out.

Instructions

  1. Make the Baggo Boards

    • 1

Use two same-sized shoeboxes, without lids. Cut one end off each box.

    • 2

Turn one box onto one side. Position a ruler on the side facing upward, from the bottom edge where the piece was removed and slanting up to the top edge of the uncut end. Mark the line with a pencil.

    • 3

Turn the box over, and repeat Step 2 on the opposite side of the box. Be sure to make the slanted line begin at the cutoff spot and end at the taller uncut end.

    • 4

Use scissors to cut on the slanted lines on each side of the box. Trim the sides, if necessary, so the box sits on a surface without wobbling.

    • 5

Mark a 3-inch circle on the bottom of the box, about 4 inches down from the top (taller end). Cut out the hole.

    • 6

Repeat Steps 1 to 5 with the second box, making sure it sits solidly on a surface.

    • 7

Paint the boxes in one color or use several colors, as you wish. Use paints or markers to add other embellishments on each box, such as team logos or a picture of an animal or person.

    Make the Beanbags

    • 8

Cut eight pieces of felt 3 1/4 inches wide in one color, and eight pieces of the same size in another color.

    • 9

Place two piece of same-color felt together. Stitch around three of the sides, leaving a 1/4-inch selvage edge. Repeat with the remaining squares, matching pairs of same colors together and leaving the fourth side of each beanbag open.

    • 10

Pour 1/2 cup of dried corn, either whole or ground, inside each of the bags. Stitch the open edge closed, leaving a 1/4 inch selvage edge.
