John Deere DS Cheats

In the console game "John Deere American Farmer," you attempt to run a profitable farm. You choose your crops and what kinds of animals to have as well as decide on hired hands and equipment. You face the problems of real farmers such as changes in the weather, the capability of your employees and market trends, and through it all you need to make decisions that will help your farm stay afloat. You buy John Deere equipment such as tractors and planters to use in different scenarios provided by the game, plus you can also create your own scenarios. Some cheats for the game can help you get money, cheaper vehicles, better prices for your crops and even the satisfaction of your farm family.

Cheaper Vehicles
- To get the price of vehicles down to almost nothing you'll have to edit the game file. First you'll need to create a back-up of the file you use. Then you will need to use a text editor for the .xml file associated with the saved game in the folder called "\john deere American farmer\data\games." Keep an eye out for the lines in the files that start with the word "price" that have a number following it and that end with the word "price" again. Then just alter the number to read 1 and this will make whatever vehicle that corresponds to it only one dollar.
Increase Commodity Prices
- To increase the prices of your commodities, you will have to edit the game file as well. Back up the file you are using again and then use your text editor to edit the .xml file associated with your saved game name. This name will again be in the "\john deer American farmer\data\games" folder. Scroll through the file to find a zero, followed by the numbers 3.114045 and finally followed further down by the number one. If you keep scrolling down the file you will see the commodities listed with their prices. Just change the numbers to increase their costs just like you lowered the vehicle prices.
Easy Money
- To get some easy money in the game all you have to do is to get over two-hundred milking cows for the farm. Do this before growing any crops. Then take care of these cows for a year in game time. After they are a year old you can make a lot of money selling the milk.
Farm Family Satisfaction
- For satisfaction of your family in the game you'll need to make a purchase that the family will enjoy. To do this, go to what's called the leisure list and purchase one of the items you find there. It will include things like a trampoline, a barbecue grill and a table. A purchase of any one of these things will bring satisfaction to your farm family.
