Free Activities
Prepare a nature hunt that everyone can enjoy. Make lists with nature items such as a black rock, twig, grass blade, brown leaf and purple flower. Divide players into teams and see who can find the most nature items. Other free activities include going to a community pool or to the local beach for the day. Some botanical gardens offer free admission on certain days during the summer. Pick up a basketball and head to your local park for a friendly game in the sun.
Physical Activities
Participate in physical activities on a sunny day to promote a healthy lifestyle. Some activities for fun in the sun include riding a bike, going on a walk, jogging, rollerblading and skateboarding. If you have enough players, play a game of soccer, baseball, kickball or volleyball. Add some fun to a game of baseball by duct-taping a large beach towel to a bat and using a beach ball instead of a baseball.
Water Activities
Stay cool with water activities on a hot, sunny day. Have everyone select a partner, and see who can toss a water balloon the farthest distance to each partner without it popping or the team dropping it. Play a game of dodge ball using water balloons instead of balls. The last player to avoid being hit by a water balloon wins the game. Other water activities include going fishing, kayaking, boating or visiting a local water park. For another easy water game, play a game of water limbo by using a stream of water as a limbo pole. The last player to get wet wins the game.
Other Activities
Other activities to do on a sunny day are horseback riding, visiting a local park, camping and playing a game of croquet or horseshoes. Play some classic activities outside like a game of tag, hide-and-seek or capture the flag. You need two teams for capture the flag. Each team has five minutes to hide a flag in a designated spot. After five minutes, the teams switch places, and the first team to find the flag wins the game.
