How to Put Together a LEGO Helicopter

LEGOs are building block toys enjoyed by children and adults. They can be used to create simple structures like buildings and animals to complex moving machines with lights and sound. There are many ways to build any one object out of LEGO blocks -- your imagination is the limit. If you want to build a LEGO helicopter, start with a simple design and once you master it, move on to a more complex creation.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the two flat 1-by-6 blocks to the bottom side of the front and back of the 2-by-4 flat block so that the resultant unit looks like an "H." Set the piece on a flat surface with the 1-by-6 blocks running left to right.

    • 2

Attach a 2-by-2 slanted yellow piece to the rear center of the 2-by-4 resting on top of the 1-by-6 blocks. Add a raised 2-by-3 block next to the 2-by-2 block so that it forms the body of the helicopter. Set a 2-by-3 flat block on the top of the raised 2-by-3 and 2-by-2, securing those two pieces together.

    • 3

Piece together one slanted 1-by-1 block to the left top edge of a 1-by-6 raised block with the slant facing right. Attach this unit to the helicopter body, to the left of the flat 2-by-3 block, forming the tail of the helicopter.

    • 4

Connect a clear slanted 2-by-1 piece to the left edge of the helicopter body opposite the tail, forming the cabin. Place a clear 1-by-2 piece to the right of the clear slanted 2-by-1 to complete the helicopter cabin.

    • 5

Set the remaining slanted 1-by-1 block on the body to the left of the tail unit with the slant facing right. Plant a 1-by-2 flat block on top of the right-facing slanted piece.

    • 6

Connect two 1-by-4 blocks to two blades on the propeller piece so that two blades are long and two blades are short. Stick the propeller onto a 2-by-2 square piece with an upward-facing perpendicular spout. Attach the base of the 2-by-2 to the top of the cabin to secure the propeller to the helicopter.
