How to Play Graphing Calculator Games With a TI-Nspire

It is a time-honored tradition for students to foil all educational efforts their teacher makes. This tradition was continued with the introduction of more advanced graphing calculators to the math classroom. While graphing calculators have revolutionized the math classroom, they also have many "fun" possibilities, as games have been developed for these educational tools.

TI-Nspire USB cord

Instructions

  Visit websites that contain downloadable games for your TI-Nspire. (See Resources.)

  Plug the USB cord into your calculator and computer. Choose a game; for example, Blackjack. Follow the directions on the website for downloading the game.

  Select Blackjack from your TI-Nspire applications menu.

  Push the "Enter" button to be dealt the cards. Use the up and down cursor buttons to increase or decrease your bet amount. Push "Enter" again to receive another card or the right cursor button to "Stand." Once you press the right cursor button, the screen will announce the winner of that hand. Press "Enter" to be dealt the next two cards and continue the game.
