Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set a time and date for game play and invite players accordingly. Plan to play at sunset or nighttime. This game is traditionally played in darker hours to make for more hiding and excitement. Supply each player with a flashlight or ask that they bring flashlights. Make the game even more challenging and ask players to dress in camouflage or dark colors.
Set up parameters for your game. You need boundaries so that game play doesn't go too far. For example, if you are playing in your neighborhood, keep it to a few consecutive blocks using front and backyards. Another idea is to play in a park or head to local camping grounds.
Gather everyone playing and explain the rules. Basic rules consist of one person being the hunter who counts with his eyes closed for two minutes while other players hide. The hunter then searches for the other players and tags them, making them hunters as well, until he has tagged all the players. A time limit of a half hour is set and anyone not tagged wins; however, if all are tagged, the original hunter wins. If a player goes out of bounds, he is automatically a hunter, too.
Write down each player's name on a small piece of paper and put in a bowl. Draw one name to determine who the hunter is. If you have a rather large group, such as 10 players or more, select two hunters. Start game play and play as many games as you and your friends can stand.
