How to Fix Jammed Wii Power & Reset Buttons

Fixing jammed Nintendo Wii power and reset buttons are essential to successful game playing. Jammed buttons may cause your Wii console to disconnect or operate improperly. As a result, monitors may freeze, games are interrupted and you have to start all over. What is worse, chances are if you fail to fix the problem it will happen again and again.   • Toothpicks
  • Disinfectant rags
  • Rubbing acohol
  • Cotton swabs

Instructions

      Pause of turn off the power system. Remove visible crumbs or impediments with a toothpick. Insert the tip of a toothpick into the crevice around the perimeter of each button. Pick up crumbs and other tiny objects.

      Dip a cotton swab into rubbing alcohol. Rub the swab around the outside of the buttons and in crevices to clean and lubricate buttons.

      Wipe the entire controller clean with a disinfectant rag or wipe.

      Turn the Wii back on. Press and hold the "SYNC" button on the controller when the Health and Safety screen appears to re-sync a remote. Detach the back cover on the controller and quickly press and release the tiny red button beneath the batteries. Re-attach the cover and begin playing.
