Pause of turn off the power system. Remove visible crumbs or impediments with a toothpick. Insert the tip of a toothpick into the crevice around the perimeter of each button. Pick up crumbs and other tiny objects.
Dip a cotton swab into rubbing alcohol. Rub the swab around the outside of the buttons and in crevices to clean and lubricate buttons.
Wipe the entire controller clean with a disinfectant rag or wipe.
Turn the Wii back on. Press and hold the "SYNC" button on the controller when the Health and Safety screen appears to re-sync a remote. Detach the back cover on the controller and quickly press and release the tiny red button beneath the batteries. Re-attach the cover and begin playing.
