How to Put Up a Bean Board

Go to any school, church or neighborhood carnival and you're likely to find a beanbag toss. Beanbag tosses are occasionally even found at larger fairs. They're also a fun game for kids to play with friends at home. Beanbag toss -- also known as bag toss, bean bag game, cornhole or corn toss -- is a centuries old game. Players attempt to throw bags full of beans or dried corn through a hole in a board located several feet away. Whoever gets the most beanbags through the bean board's hole wins.

Things You'll Need

  • Plywood support board (same size as the bean board)
  • Wood 2-inch by 4-inch stud (as long as the bean board and support board are wide)
  • Wood glue
  • 2 2 1/4-inch screws
  • Drill

Instructions

    • 1

Glue the wood stud to the back of the bean board. Apply glue along the length of one 4-inch side of the stud. Place the stud against the back of the bean board, about 1/2 inch down from the bean board's top. Continue to apply pressure to the stud with your hands for about ten minutes, while the glue slightly sets.

    • 2

Hold the stud in place with your hands as your screw the two 2 1/4 screws into the stud with the drill. Screw the screws into the bean board's stud about 2 inches in from each side of the stud.

    • 3

Hold the bean board and newly attached stud up, placing the bottom edge against the ground. Place the plywood support board's top edge against the bottom edge of the stud. Tip the support board and bean board at a slight angle so that the plywood board holds up the bean board.
