Instructions to Infogrames Battleship

The game of Battleship has been around for many years. The game has been marketed and released by several different companies, but it is always very similar. The game is two-player and the goal is to sink the other players' battleships before they sink yours. Battleships are placed on a target grid and the other player must call out spots on the grid where they think your ships are located. A combination of luck and strategy are used to win. Playing is easy but winning is more difficult.

Instructions

  Open the game boards and sit facing your opponent. You must sit in a way that your opponent cannot see your board.

  Position your five ships onto your board. The ships must be placed horizontally or vertically, but can be placed in any area of the board.

  Alternate turns with your opponent. Turns consist of guessing a place on the grid where you think an enemy ship my be. The grid is 10 by 10 and uses the letters A through J and numbers 1 through 10. If you hit an enemy ship, mark that space on your game board with a green peg. If you miss, mark it with a white peg. If your opponent hits your ship, mark it with a red peg.

  Continue game play by alternating turns. When a ship is full of red pegs, it needs to be removed from your game board. When one player loses all of their ships, the game is over and the other player wins.
