Things You'll Need
Instructions
Get some exercise. If you want to be a Nerf assassin, you need to be able to run to catch up with your target and run to get away from a would-be attack. Jogging is a good exercise to build stamina, or if you prefer, walking fast or cycling.
Pick out a Nerf gun for yourself and buy a large supply of darts to go with it.
Practice your shooting. To be a good assassin you must be able to surprise your target and shoot him quickly before he has a chance to respond. In most cases you only get one chance to shoot. Use empty plastic bottles as targets. They will fall over easily if you shoot them, letting you know instantly if you are hitting your target. Although they are foam darts, it is best not to aim for the head once you start your first assignment. Not only is it a small target that you might miss completely when your target is moving, but you also risk injuring someone's eyes. It is better to aim for the torso area, which is a larger target and considered a kill. That being said, a head shot is considered OK in most games and is a legitimate kill. The other kill shot is to the leg, but is difficult to make. Have your weapon loaded and ready to fire before approaching a target. You don't want last minute noises to give away your position.
Practice sneaking up on your target from around the side of a building. It might help to practice with the help of another person, playing a game just between the two of you to get used to sneak attacks and the tension involved with knowing you are being hunted.
Contact a group that plays the game or make up one of your own. Some games are broadcast online on forums or they might be listed in a paper. If you cannot find a game, get friends together and start one of your own. Advertise in the paper if you need more players or ask friends to ask some of their other friends.
Designate a moderator for the game that hands out assignments or targets. Do not divulge your target to anyone else as you leave the moderator. Generally you should have a start time for the game that is at least several hours past the time that the first assignments are given. This will allow everyone to get away from each other.
Give out code names to each player. The assassin must determine the code name of the person they are trying to locate. If you are successful in "killing" your target, you get any active assignments of that person. Your target paperwork must be kept with you at all times.
