How to Hide a Camera for Pranks

Pulling a prank on your friends or family members can be a fun and exciting activity. The thrill of watching someone react, whether it be exciting or frightening, makes every prank worthwhile. But have you ever tried to tell someone about that reaction after the fact? Without a photographic or video record, the experience may be hard to convey. That it is why some resort to hiding a camera, somewhere in the room, to capture the prank in action.

  Decide which prank you are going to orchestrate and where it will take place. This will give you an idea of where to position the camera to capture the best angle of the prank.

  Find a secret location to place the camera. If you are outside, areas to hide a camera could include in the bushes, perched on a branch in a tree, or the window sill of a nearby building. If inside, areas to hide a camera could include a bookcase, behind objects on a dresser, or in a high location above the eyesight of the unsuspecting person.

  Prepare the camera so that you are sure to capture the whole scene. Zoom the lens in too close and you could miss the action. It is best to zoom the camera's lens out to wide angle so that you are sure to capture everything. This will also give you some room for error in case the prank doesn't go according to plan.

  Press record on the camera and begin your prank! Stop recording when the prank is finished.
