The Powerball lottery is played in 44 states; this game generates a mega-jackpot when it is won. Powerball is played twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday nights. If no grand prize is won during any drawing, the Powerball jackpot rolls over into the next drawing, increasing the monetary prize for a future winner. Tickets are sold at any gas station, grocery store or liquor store in participating states; Powerball tickets cost $1. Many people purchase Powerball tickets by informing the cashier they want a ticket and allowing the lottery machine to produce numbers on their behalf. If you want to generate your own Powerball numbers rather than letting a machine do it for you, you can do so by using a Powerball player's card.
