Destroying Traps
The Uria card can be used to destroy one of your opponent's set spell or trap cards. When you choose to do this, your opponent cannot initiate a chain. A chain is where a card is played, and then your opponent counters with a card, which you in turn counter and so on until one player cannot respond. The Uria card is final, even if your opponent has a Bottomless Trap Hole, Divine Wrath or Torrential Tribute card.
Attack Points
The attack points of Uria can be augmented by sending trap cards into the graveyard. Uria gains 1,000 attack points for each trap card in the graveyard. The effects of these trap cards on Uria are continuous, which means that the cards are not destroyed after activation but remain in the field of play. If the Inverse Universe card is played -- a card which switches the values of a card's attack and defense points -- the points values are frozen at the switched level and do not continue to increase despite the trap cards in the graveyard.
Halved Attack Points
While Uria can generate attack points, if his attack points are halved by one of the cards that carry such a power, he cannot recoup the lost points. These points are then frozen at their halved level, regardless of any subsequent changes in the amount of trap cards in the graveyard. Cards that can halve Uria's attack points include Blackwing the Gale Whirlwind and Elemental HERO Great Tornado.
Special Summon
If Uria, Lord of Searing Flames is destroyed in combat, he can be resurrected from your graveyard. To do this, you must Special Summon Uria from the graveyard by discarding one of your trap cards. Special Summon allows you to summon a monster from the grave without using up a more prized Summon card. Uria then returns directly to the field of play, but he must skip a turn if you are controlling another monster at the time.
