Baking Games for Boys

Boys may take an interest in baking at a young age while helping mom mix cookie or cake mixes. Though children can't use the oven, there are many ways to help boys learn how to bake different types of baked goods. All activities should be completed with parental supervision.
  1. Video Games

    • Teach boys to bake using video consoles or the computer. Video games like Cooking Mama, Magic Baking and Decorate Sweet Cake all teach boys how to build recipes step by step. Each action is completed with a swing of the remote or a click of the mouse, just as if baking in real life. You have to wait a certain amount of time to bake the item when all mixed together. When completed, you earn points.

    Editing Exercises

    • If teaching boys to bake in a classroom setting, turn the activity into something educational and slightly competitive. Supply a recipe at the beginning of the week with a select number of grammatical and spelling errors. Ask the students to correct the recipe and turn in the next day. Select the top five boys with the best corrections to bake the item to share with the class.

    Children's Ovens

    • Teach boys how to bake using an oven designed for children. Toys such as the Easy Bake Oven come complete with mixes to make brownies, cakes and other baked goods. All you have to do is add water. The oven gets hot enough to bake, but not as hot as an actual oven. These items are sold at toy and educational stores.

    Contest

    • Hold a contest for boys to see who can most creatively decorate a cake. Start by asking the boys to bake the cake, wait for it to cool, making frosting in the process. Supply different tubed frosting and sprinkles. Judge based on the most unique idea.
