How Do I Check My Powerball Number Online?

Powerball is a lottery game played in 42 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Players play Powerball by choosing five numbers between one and 59 and one Powerball number from one to 39. If you match all five of your regular numbers and the Powerball number, you win the grand prize. Smaller prizes go to players who match any of the regular numbers and the Powerball number; the amounts vary based on the total jackpot during any given Powerball drawing. Drawings are held twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday nights.

  Go to the Powerball website to check your numbers against the winning Powerball numbers. (See Resources.) Drawings are 10:59 p.m. Eastern time Wednesdays and Saturdays; you can check your numbers any time after the drawing.

  Click on the "Powerball Numbers" link on the Powerball home page to view the winning numbers from the previous three drawings.

  Click the "Old Numbers" link above the current winning numbers to check tickets older than one week. Winning numbers since 1997 are stored on the Powerball system.
