Shading
You can add shading to items you design in the fashion design studio (FDS). This makes the clothing look more realistic. The shading will look darker than it will after you save and view your clothing item again. So when designing, shade a little darker than the tone you'd like to convey.
Friends
The community is large, and so you may find it difficult to make good friends or returning buyers. Go to one of the many auctions in the game. Message other users, go to their boutiques and talk to them, or send messages to users to begin a friendship and gain votes and views for your designs and boutique, which help you reach the front page under "Member Dress-up Boutiques." You can also use this messaging to advertise your items or promote your upcoming auctions. You can encourage deal-making, wherein you message others and ask them to add you if you'll add them. This is how you get "favorites," which increase your game level.
Selling Items
When selling items, list your own items for one Gcents, the currency used on the site, or list them in an auction for a price you believe they are worth. However, when looking for items to buy, look to designer clothing items. Look and purchase these before making any clothing of your own. This is because when the designer's boutiques close down, you can't get these clothes anymore. Then, you can sell these to others in the community and make a profit since they are high in demand.
Getting on the Front Page
"Girlsense" shows some of the top boutiques on the site's front page. This section, called "Cool Member Boutiques," is in the middle of the page. To be featured in this section, you must get your name out there so that the group that decides who is featured in that section notices you. To do this, hold many auctions for your clothing, send many notes to other users promoting your boutique's sales, and participate often in the community polls and groups.
Being Safe
"Girlsense" is generally used by girls who are 13 years of age or younger. As such, it may attract people who want to obtain your personal information or place you in unsafe circumstances. Do not give your personal information to any member you don't know, and do not list your personal information in your boutique. Personal information includes phone number, street address, personal email, pictures or real names. If someone says something mean to you or asks for personal information, flag her.
