Things You'll Need
Instructions
Watch others throw before you to see if the rings tend to land far or short. This can help you adapt your throw before even taking a turn.
Stand as close to the throwing line as you can to give yourself the maximum advantage.
Take your time and plan your throw. Rushing will limit any calculations you can observe to adapt your next throw. It can also cause you to make mistakes like releasing the ring too early. Take a deep breath before throwing and visualize the bottle you want the ring to land on.
Aim for the bottles in the center. Even if you miss the one you were aiming for you are more likely to have it land on a bottle next to it.
Throw the ring underhanded so that it falls down onto the tops of the bottles. This is easier than trying to hook it onto one of the bottles.
Pay attention to your aim and the results. If you seem to be landing the ring farther than you intend to, aim closer than the bottle actually is. This will help accommodate your tendencies and skills.
