Jump Height Games
Players try to get as high in the sky as possible jumping games, such "Pow Pom Pom Cheer Captain," found at Pog. Once cheerleaders launch the cheer captain into the air, players move their mouse left and right to hit pom-poms and stars, which provide a height boost. Players try to top their high score with each launch.
Party Games
Cheerleader-themed birthday parties provide guests with an opportunity to channel their inner cheerleader. At the start of the party, divide guests into teams of two for "Cheerleader Make Over." Using cheerleader tops and bottoms, hair spray, pom-poms, pony tails and other items, have players make each other over. Guests can also compete in a "Cheer Contest." For this game, the leader gives all guests a written cheer and sends each to a designated "Practice Gym" room. Players take 10 minutes to create a cheerleading routine to go along with their cheer.
Perfect-The-Moves Games
Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck need players' help to win first place in a cheerleading competition in "Disney's All-Star Cheer," found at Y3. To score points, players press the correct "ASDF" or "1" through "4" keys when pom-poms reach the colored buttons. Players advance to the next level if their spirit meter fills completely before time runs out. In a similar game, cheerleaders tries to keep up with the team captain's moves in "High School Cheerleader," found at Addicting Games. This game puts players through "Challenge" and "Competition" stages, in which they press the correct arrow keys to make cheerleaders perform moves.
Video Games
Players customize their cheerleader character and use their remote control as pom-poms in Namco's "We Cheer," available for the Nintendo Wii platform. Using the Wii remote, players mimic color-coded on-screen prompts. "Campaign" mode features two players competing for the position of squad captain, while "Party" mode lets four players compete. In "Exercise" mode, players burn calories as they cheer. Sequel game "We Cheer 2" features "Training," "Exercise" and "Championship" modes.
Teamwork helps determine players' success in THQ Inc.'s "All Star Cheer Squad" for Nintendo DS and Wii platforms. After customizing their cheerleader in this game, players compete in one-on-one and squad cheer-offs. Players grow their squad throughout the competitive season and try to advance to cheer captain. Sequel "All Star Cheer Squad 2" features new stunts and international competitions.
